Wall Street Set to Open Marginally Lower Ahead of New Home Sales, GDP Figures

US stocks look set to open Wednesday's trading session slightly lower ahead of new home sales data set to be released later this morning and the Q1 GDP report due Thursday.

Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were down 0.28%, S&P 500 futures were off 0.21%, and Nasdaq futures were moving 0.15% lower.

Oil prices were nudging higher, with front-month global benchmarks Brent crude and West Texas Intermediate crude rising 0.13% and 0.07%, respectively.

In other world markets, Japan's Nikkei climbed 1.26%, the Hong Kong Hang Seng was up 0.09%, and China's Shanghai Composite rose 0.76%. Meanwhile in Europe's early afternoon session, the UK's FTSE 100 was down 0.49%, while Germany's DAX and France's CAC were declining 0.66% and 1.30%, respectively.

In equities, shares of Syntec Optics (OPTX) soared 175% in Wednesday's premarket session following a 1.7% gain on Tuesday. Anew Medical's (WENA) stock surged 184% after it said Wednesday that it received a patent in Europe for its Klotho gene sequence and gene delivery systems to treat diminished cognition, memory loss, dementia, and other neurodegenerative diseases. Shares of Thunder Power (AIEV) were up 50%, more than erasing Tuesday's 16% loss. Rivian Automotive (RIVN) shares climbed 34% after Volkswagen said late Tuesday that it will invest up to $5 billion in the electric vehicle maker. And Volcon's (VLCN) stock advanced 47%, trading on very high volume and adding to a 43% gain the previous session.

On the losing side, shares of CNS Pharmaceuticals (CNSP) plunged 35%, wiping out Tuesday's 27% gain after it priced a registered direct offering and warrants Wednesday at $2.45 per share. GRI Bio (GRI) shares tumbled 33% after it said in a regulatory filing Wednesday that it plans to launch an offering of stock and warrants. Sypris Solutions (SYPR) stock dropped 16%, adding to a 1% loss from Tuesday. Shares of VSee Lab (VSEE) fell 9%, piling on to a 34% loss on Tuesday. And Agrify (AGFY) was down 11%, adding to a nearly 6% loss the previous session.
