英国通信监管机构Ofcom周一表示，由于去年6月影响1.4万个紧急呼叫的网络中断，决定对英国电信集团（BT Group）处以1750万英镑（约合2260万美元）罚款。
Ofcom表示：“我们发现，英国电信在此类事件发生时没有足够的预警系统，也没有足够的程序来迅速评估此类事件的严重性、影响和可能的原因，或确定缓解措施。”
该监管机构表示，目前还没有得到应急部门证实的事故造成严重伤害的报告，但补充称，“潜在的伤害程度非常严重”。
