SI6 Metals (ASX:SI6) identified anomalous lithium zones following the receipt of 266 soil sample assay results from its Padre Paraíso lithium prospect in Brazil, according to a Monday filing with the Australian Securities Exchange.

The sampling program was conducted over a previously identified pegmatite corridor, where surface and auger samples returned strong lithium anomalies. The results identified multiple zones with elevated lithium values, with the highest recorded value being 140 parts per million lithium found in the middle eastern portion, the filing said.

The company plans to expand and refine exploration efforts to realize the prospect's lithium potential, according to the filing.

Shares rose 100% in afternoon trading.
