Tecon Biology Grows August Pig Sales Revenue on Higher Prices

Tecon Biology (SHE:002100) posted August pig sales revenue of 458 million yuan, up from 415 million yuan the prior year, as commercial pig prices rose year over year to 19.03 yuan per kilogram from 16.02 yuan per kilogram.

Meanwhile, the number of pigs sold for the month declined on-year to 239,500 pigs from 256,600 pigs, according to a Monday filing with the Shenzhen bourse.

For the first eight months of the year, pig sales revenue rose to 3.11 billion yuan from the prior year's 2.89 billion yuan.

Shares of the veterinary biological products maker were down 2% in recent trade.
