Treasure Factory Reports 16.4% Surge in August Sales, Opens New Store
Treasure Factory (TYO:3093), a Japanese retailer specializing in second-hand and new merchandise, reported a 16.4% increase in net sales for August compared to the same period last year, a Tuesday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
Sales at existing stores grew by 5.3% year-on-year. The rise in sales is attributed to strong performance in summer apparel, household items, and sports and outdoor products.
The company faced challenges, including temporary store closures and shortened hours due to a typhoon at the end of the month. However, high temperatures throughout August contributed to robust sales across various product categories.
In August, Treasure Factory also expanded its footprint by opening a new store in Urawa Nakao on Aug. 16. This brings the total number of stores to 202, including four franchise locations.
