Shin-Etsu Chemical Buys Back 16.7 Million Shares, Plans Cancellation; Shares Up 4%

Shin-Etsu Chemical (TYO:4063) has completed its share repurchase program, buying back 16.7 million common shares for 99.99 billion yen from May 20 to Sept. 11, according to a Wednesday filing on the Singapore Exchange.

The repurchased shares, representing 0.83% of outstanding shares, will be canceled on Dec. 6. Shares of the company were up 4% in recent trade.
