TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Chair of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), Ahmad Muzani, said that around 33 international guests have confirmed their attendance at the inauguration event of Prabowo-Gibran on Sunday, October 20, 2024. He mentioned that the attending foreign guests are heads of state and equivalent levels.

"The foreign guests who confirmed today, heads of state and equivalent heads of state who confirmed their attendance are about 33 countries from ASEAN, friendly countries and ASEAN partner countries," Muzani said at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Saturday, October 19, 2024.

According to Muzani, the presence of many world leaders at the inauguration is a pride and honor for Indonesia. He said Indonesians should be proud because many friendly nations respect Indonesia.

"The presidential inauguration is attended by many friendly countries that respect us," said the Secretary-General of the Gerindra Party.

Therefore, he hoped that Indonesia would be a gracious host who would also respect the guests. Muzani mentioned that several foreign guests have already arrived in Indonesia since Friday and more are expected.

"We ask for prayers and support from all the people of Jakarta and surrounding areas," Muzani said.

He also apologized to the people of Jakarta and surrounding areas if they experience travel and traffic disruptions. "I hope that tomorrow's journey will be good, smooth, and solemn," he added.

The swearing-in ceremony for Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as President and Vice President will be held at the Parliament Building at around 10:00 am. In addition to guests from friendly countries, all members of the Council, former presidents and vice presidents, and leaders of political parties will attend the event. A public stage along Jl. Jenderal Sudirman and Jl. MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta, will also enliven the inauguration event.
