桑坦德银行首席执行官Hector Grisi表示，随着流程简化和自动化计划的推进，该银行今年将在英国削减1，425个岗位。

　　“这可能会影响更多的就业岗位，”Grisi周二在用西班牙语召开的新闻发布会上表示，“这将取决于我们需要多少人来负责客户关系等工作。”

　　该行截至9月的三个月净利润为32.5亿欧元（约合35亿美元）。虽然好于分析师预期，但其利息和手续费收入季度环比下降，其英国子公司推迟发布财报，正在评估汽车金融领域监管调查的影响。

　　彭博周五报道称，该行大约两周前开始了一轮裁员，重点是位于英国的公司。 

　　“我们不断审视我们的运营模式，以确保我们的团队以最佳方式组织起来，切实有效地支持我们的客户，”桑坦德银行的一位发言人在发给彭博的声明中表示，但没有直接就裁员发表评论。

　　根据财报，截至9月底桑坦德银行在英国的员工总数为21，812人，同比减少392人。
