Hankook Tire & Technology (KRX:161390) began receiving recycled carbon black from HD Hyundai Oilbank's petrochemical subsidiary HD Hyundai OCI, Pulse News reported Wednesday.
The refined material improves rubber elasticity and replaces petroleum-based components, helping lower carbon emissions in tire production.
The project is part of a 13-company consortium led by Hankook Tire and HD Hyundai to create sustainable tire manufacturing practices, the report said.
