韩国最大的电池制造商LG新能源公司（LGES）周五表示，已与美国电动汽车制造商Rivian达成了向其供应电动汽车电池的协议。
根据协议，LG新能源将为Rivian提供先进的4695圆柱电池，总计67吉瓦时，为期五年多。
该公司没有透露合同的详细财务条款。
LG新能源表示，这些电池将在该公司位于亚利桑那州的美国工厂生产，并将用于Rivian的R2电动SUV。
在与Rivian达成协议之前，这家韩国公司还与梅赛德斯-奔驰和福特（Ford）等全球汽车制造商签订了类似的电池供应合同。
LG新能源表示，4695圆柱形电池容量更大、能源效率更高、安全性更强，在圆柱形电池需求不断增加的情况下受到欢迎。
