著名投资者、方舟投资（Ark Invest）公司CEO凯西-伍德（Cathie Wood）周五为她表现不佳的方舟创新交易所交易基金（ARK Innovation ETF，ARKK）辩护。
她表示：“我们是一个动态的基金。我们不应该成为任何投资组合的很大一部分。我们现在采取的更像是一种卫星战略，而且我们认为这就是世界的运行之道。”
对比美国新冠疫情大流行的鼎盛时期，这只科技基金的价格目前已经损失了近三分之二。在美国的新冠疫情期间，当时市场兴奋和模因股票热潮将股价推高至近160美元，并使该基金价格在2020年飙升了149%。
但从那时起，该基金持续表现不佳，这加剧了投资者对其投资策略的怀疑。根据FactSet的数据，今年方舟创新的股价上涨了2.8%，远低于同期标准普尔500指数24%的涨幅。而在过去三年中，该股平均每年下跌约23%。
伍德承认，新冠大流行期间的几项“有趣的行为”使的方舟创新基金的股价走高，但她断言，支撑她公司投资的许多技术和研究“要先进得多”。
她指出，多组学生命科学和医疗保健行业是该基金的最大拖累，但随着Intellia Therapeutics等新的基因组疗法编辑公司出现，提供替代疾病治疗方法，这种情况应该会改变。
