当地时间11月12日，美国当选总统特朗普宣布任命纽约房地产投资商、其竞选捐助者史蒂夫·威特科夫（Steve Witkoff）为其就任总统后的美国中东问题特使。

当地时间11月12日，特朗普宣布提名前阿肯色州州长迈克·赫卡比（Mike Huckabee）为其就任总统后的美国驻以色列大使。

赫卡比今年69岁，自1996年7月起连续11年担任阿肯色州州长，是该州迄今在位最久的共和党籍州长。他曾在2007年和2015年两度参选总统，但都在共和党初选过程中退出。

赫卡比是以色列的坚定支持者，其认同以色列对约旦河西岸的主张，并反对巴勒斯坦建国。
