GE Vernova (GEV) has dismissed or suspended several workers at its wind turbine manufacturing plant in Gaspe, Quebec, after an internal investigation uncovered quality control violations, Reuters reported Thursday, citing sources familiar with the matter.
The company has reportedly fired several Gaspe employees, including supervisors, and suspended others following a probe that began after one of the turbine blades at the Vineyard Wind project shattered in July.
The blade was made at the Quebec plant.
Reuters noted that Radio-Gaspesie was the first to report on the findings of the GE Vernova investigation.
GE Vernova did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
