Asahi Kasei (TYO:3407) said its board has approved a merger to absorb its wholly owned subsidiary, Asahi Kasei NS Energy, effective April 1, 2025, according to its Friday filing.
Originally a joint venture with Nippon Steel, NS Energy became fully owned by Asahi Kasei in 2023, focusing on energy supply within the group. This merger aims to streamline operations by integrating NS Energy into Asahi Kasei.
