格隆汇11月25日｜英国最有影响力商业游说组织、英国工业联合会(CBI)首席执行官Rain Newton-Smith表示，在工党政府发表增加税收的预算案后，英国企业正处于“将损失控制至最低”的阶段，近一半的公司计划裁员。上月英国预算案提出，将增加税收超过400亿英镑。接受CBI调查的许多企业表示，不愿再作投资、扩张或增加招聘。Newton-Smith称，预算案希望提高财政收入原本是预期之内，但加税幅度令许多公司感到意外。约六成的受访者称，预算案不会提高对英国的投资吸引力，有48%的企业计划裁员，62%的企业表示将会减少招聘。
