European Beverage Companies Set to Experience More Turbulence in 2025 -- Market Talk

Dow Jones

1150 GMT - European drinks makers will likely face another year of turbulence in 2025, Deutsche Bank analysts write in a research note. Import tariffs into the U.S. and China, both key markets for European liquors, pose a risk for distillers, as well as lower consumption of alcohol. "After another tough year for European Beverages, it is tempting to argue that 2025 is likely to be better. Unfortunately, we see limited reasons for optimism," they say. The analysts believe consensus estimates might be too optimistic for next year, adding that "stock selectivity will be key." DB downgrades Davide Campari-Milano to hold from buy and Remy Cointreau to sell from hold. (andrea.figueras@wsj.com)
