IT之家 12 月 11 日消息，美国商务部周二表示，作为2022 年《芯片和科学法案》的一部分，美光科技已获得高达 61.65 亿美元（IT之家备注：当前约 448.07 亿元人民币）的拨款，用于在美国制造半导体。
该机构表示，这笔资金将支持美光的“二十年愿景”，即在纽约投资约 1000 亿美元、在爱达荷州投资 250 亿美元用于新工厂，并创造约 20,000 个新工作岗位。美国商务部还表示，美光将根据某些里程碑的完成情况逐步获得上述资金。
此外，美国商务部还宣布已与美光科技达成初步协议，将额外提供 2.75 亿美元资金，用于扩建美光位于弗吉尼亚州马纳萨斯的 DRAM内存芯片工厂并对其进行现代化改造。
美光首席执行官 Sanjay Mehrotra 表示，作为唯一一家总部位于美国的存储芯片制造商，“美光具有得天独厚的优势，可以将领先的内存制造引入美国，加强美国的技术领先地位并促进先进的创新。”
