智通财经APP获悉，美联储将于香港时间周四(12月19日)公布议息结果，嘉信理财香港有限公司理财顾问林长杰表示，美联储已从2022年中的9%通胀高峰，迈向2%的最后阶段，但这段旅程将充满挑战。据上周公布的通胀报告显示，美国物价指数略有回升，使决策者面临更大的困难。然而，这对即将公布的议息结果影响不大。
林长杰称，最近的就业数据显示，美国劳动市场正经历降温阶段，市场对美联储于12月的议息会议宣布降息的信心继而日益增强。由于美联储不倾向采取不可预测的行动，因此，除非出现重大转变，否则央行不会在12月维持利率不变。展望未来，在通胀持续的背景下，预计美联储将在2025年初暂停调整利率。
