TXNM Energy's (TXNM) PNM unit said Tuesday it has issued a request for proposals for at least 900 megawatts of new energy resources for clients in New Mexico between 2029 and 2032.

PNM said it would need at least 500 megawatts by 2030.

The company said the request for proposals and current natural gas generation capacity are expected to potentially replace resources from the Four Corners Power Plant, from which it intends to exit when its agreements end in 2031.

PNM said it gained the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission's approval this year to add 410 MW of new solar and battery storage resources in 2026 while it has sought approval to add 430 MW to 450 MW in 2028.
