Cerence shares surged after the company said it would expand its collaboration with Nvidia to help power its artificial-intelligence vehicle product.
The Burlington, Mass., company's stock jumped 75%, to $13.98, in Friday morning trading, hitting its highest point since early April.
Through the collaboration, Nvidia is helping to power the Cerence Automotive Large Language Model, an in-vehicle computing technology. The technology is designed to develop cars that respond to their drivers' voices.
Cerence expects the expanded deal to help deliver faster in-vehicle assistance, improve user experience and strengthen security and privacy.
