China's Geely Automobile Holdings (HKG:0175, HKG:80175) wants to sell more than 5 million vehicles annually by 2027, a 79% increase from 2023 through consolidating its brands and improving efficiency, Reuters reported Monday, citing a statement from the company.
The company will consolidate its passenger car brands into Geely Auto for the mass market and Zeekr Technology for premium vehicles. The automaker has sold about 3 million vehicles in the first 11 months of 2024, Reuters said.
Zeekr was merged with its sister brand Lynk & Co as the first big restructuring move in a planned overhaul for the sprawling automotive group in November. The company will likely become one of the top 10 car sellers to sell five million vehicles in a single year, the publication noted.
