Alaska Communications has hired the former chief executive of Examinetics to replace its top officer.

The ATN International affiliate said Monday that Paul Fenaroli has been appointed chief executive and given a seat on the board. He will take over for Matthew McConnell, who the company said has completed his tenure.

McConnell was hired as president and chief executive in 2023 to succeed Bill Bishop, who died in the summer of that year.

Fenaroli was most recently chairman and CEO of Examinetics and served as managing director of Verus Strategic Advisors before that.
