1016 GMT - Telecommunication companies are well-placed for another positive year in 2025, Morgan Stanley analysts write in a note. The sector showed its strength last year, outperforming the broader market, the analysts say. "Over the previous 10 years, the sector was a consistent underperformer, with only three years of outperformance," they add. However, resilient pricing, declining capital expenses and the return of M&A activity will likely support momentum, the U.S. bank says. Shares in Deutsche Telekom, Swisscom, and BT are expected to perform well in 2025, though French telcos such as Orange and Bouygues look less attractive, they add. BT and Deutsche Telekom shares are up 0.8% at 144.90 pence and 0.5% at 29.24 euros, respectively. Swisscom shares are flat at 508 Swiss francs. (najat.kantouar@wsj.com)
