据知情人士透露，谷歌前首席执行官埃里克·施密特（Eric Schmidt）对3D打印火箭制造商Relativity Space Inc．进行了大笔投资。

　　知情人士说，施密特自去年以来一直在支持该公司。由于没有获得公开发言的授权，这些人士要求不具名。据报道，Relativity Space此前曾在2024年面临融资挑战。

　　施密特的代表拒绝置评。Relativity没有对施密特的注资发表评论，并在一份声明中表示：“我们将继续与相信我们使命、支持我们雄心勃勃的计划的强大资本合作伙伴结盟。”

　　目前尚不清楚施密特投资了多少。

　　Relativity Space成立于2015年，总部位于加州长滩，其目标是制造几乎完全3D打印的火箭。该公司在2021年获得了42亿美元的估值，其投资者包括富达管理与研究公司、贾里德·莱托和马克·库班。

　　该公司在2023年的一次试飞中发射了第一枚火箭“人族1号”（Terran 1），但未能进入轨道。后来，它选择停止开发这款飞行器，转而专注于Terran R，这是一种更大的飞行器，将于2026年发射。

　　去年，Relativity的现金储备很低，因为该公司难以筹集到Terran R开发和日常运营所需的额外资金。

　　69岁的施密特曾担任谷歌的首席执行官，直到2011年成为执行董事长，并于2019年离开董事会。从那时起，他一直参与慈善和投资工作，同时为美国政府和他的家族基金会提供咨询服务。
