ZenaTech's (ZENA) ZenaDrone unit applied for Federal Aviation Authority Part 137 crop sprayer agricultural aircraft operations certification.
The certification covers the use of ZenaDrone 1000 for agricultural applications including spraying fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides, and "the dual-use of the sprayer attached can also be used for wildfires," the company said Friday in a statement.
FAA Part 137 certification permits drone companies to run unmanned aircraft systems for agricultural-related commercial activities, and the application process, including operation demonstrations and inspections, can take several months, the company said.
