Greenwing Resources (ASX:GW1) completed a magnetotelluric and transient electromagnetic geophysical exploration at its San Jorge lithium brine project in Argentina, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.

The exploration revealed that the brine exists at significantly greater depths than the deepest hole drilled to date, which reached 402 meters. This suggests there is potential for resource expansion when additional drilling occurs, the filing said.

The increase in lithium concentration with depth indicates that lithium concentration could increase beyond the current maximum of 248 milligrams per liter of lithium encountered in the deepest drill hole.

The company defined a maiden mineral resource estimate, containing 1.1 million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent, with 670,000 million tonnes of indicated resources and 400,000 million tonnes of inferred resources.
