Labor says $35b investment in NBN enough to ‘finish the job’

Labor will spend up to $3 billion on the National Broadband Network to extend fibre internet to the doors of most homes and businesses, bringing to $35 billion the total that taxpayers have pumped into the network.

NBN Co will add another $800 million to the rollout, which is expected to be completed by 2030 and which Communications Minister Michelle Rowland said should “finish the job” of building the NBN, which began in 2010.
