Signet Jewelers (SIG) slashed its fiscal fourth-quarter sales outlook as more customers opted for lower-priced fashion gift options than anticipated during the key holiday season, sending the company's shares sharply lower in Tuesday trading.
Shares sank past 23%, with intraday trading volume surging to over 6.9 million versus a daily average of about 1.05 million.
Eli Lilly (LLY) said Tuesday its Q4 revenue is now expected to be about $13.5 billion, about $400 million below the low end of the company's recently issued outlook. Analysts polled by FactSet expected $13.93 billion.
Shares retreated 7.2% as intraday trading volume climbed to more than 7.2 million from a daily average of roughly 3.9 million.
Morgan Stanley downgraded Las Vegas Sands (LVS) shares to equal-weight from overweight while adjusting its price target for the stock to $51 from $54.
Shares of the casino group traded 4.4% lower intraday, with trading volume at over 3.3 million versus the stock's daily average of about 4.7 million.
