Bank of America $(BAC.SI)$ and Morgan Stanley $(MS)$ are due to report before the open, as are smaller banks including PNC Financial $(PNC)$ and U.S. Bancorp $(USB)$.
Other earnings due Thursday morning include health insurer UnitedHealth $(UNH)$, whose executive Brian Thompson was shot dead last month.
Richemont (CH:SWX): The Swiss luxury group reported its highest-ever quarterly sales, which beat forecasts. The strong results boosted Richemont shares and lifted other luxury stocks. Shares in LVMH (FR:MC) rose almost 8% in Paris.
TSMC $(TSM)$, (TW:2330): The world's largest contract chip maker reported another record quarter on AI-driven demand and said it expected continued growth. Its Taiwan-listed shares rose above 3%, despite new chip restrictions issued by the Biden administration Wednesday that apply to TSMC.
DuPont $(DD)$: The chemical and materials maker company said it would no longer spin off its water division, altering previous plans to break up into three smaller publicly traded companies.
