1月16日，据彭博社报道，黑石集团已聘请财务顾问探讨歌曲版权的出售事宜，包括鲍勃·迪伦、阿黛尔和Ariana Grande等人的音乐版权，预计交易规模或达30亿美元。
知情人士透露，阿波罗、美国华平投资集团和淡马锡控股等一些金融公司已表达了收购兴趣，无法确保最终会达成协议。
黑石集团此次出售的歌曲版权组合，无疑是一个极具吸引力的资产包。其中，SESAC作为黑石集团旗下负责表演权业务的子公司，为数以千计的词曲作者提供了版权费收取服务。
作为全球最大的资产管理公司之一，黑石正在试探所谓的履约权这个一直存在泡沫的市场，并寻求以合理的估值出售其持有的歌曲版权。
在私募股权巨头TPG Inc.以交易估值33亿美元卖出所持另一家表演权组织GMR的权益后，潜在买家几个月前接触了黑石集团。知情人士称，黑石正在寻求以类似的估值条款安排SESAC交易。不过，他们警告说，这个价格可能对一些买家来说太高了。
