Qantas pips Virgin on on-time flights in otherwise lacklustre year

Domestic services flown by the country’s two biggest airlines, Qantas and Virgin Australia, are still more delayed than they were before the pandemic as a lack of new aircraft hampers attempts to meet soaring travel demand.

Virgin, owned by American investment giant Bain Capital, had the fewest proportion of flights arrive on time over the past 12 months, according to official figures released by the federal government on Wednesday.
