1229 GMT - The macroeconomic outlook remains complicated, and geopolitical challenges are adding to other woes, prompting companies to alter their distribution networks, DHL Group CEO Tobias Meyer told CNBC at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Meyer said economies like China face domestic struggles, leading to a push for exports and a broadening of their footprints. Chinese and Western companies are also reacting to geopolitical changes, forcing them to think about their manufacturing and distribution footprints and leading to certain trade lanes shrinking quickly, he said. However, Meyer said DHL is also seeing good growth in other trade routes. "We have a lot of discussions now with our customers: How can we help to provide a resilient distribution footprint for the uncertainty ahead." (dominic.chopping@wsj.com)
