美国银行首席执行官Brian Moynihan在瑞士达沃斯举行的世界经济论坛间隙接受采访时表示，如果监管机构允许，美国银行业将接受加密货币支付。
当被问到鉴于特朗普对数字货币的热情，该行业对加密货币的态度可能会发生怎样的变化时，他表示：“如果规则出台并使其成为一个真正可以开展业务的领域，银行体系将在交易方面大力介入。”
据了解，目前美国银行业大多避免让客户使用加密货币进行零售交易，尽管他们的机构交易和财富管理部门已经参与了比特币ETF市场。包括摩根大通(JPM.US)首席执行官Jamie Dimon在内的行业领导者曾抨击比特币是一种被罪犯和欺诈者使用的货币。
Moynihan表示：“如果你走在街上，走进一家餐厅买午餐，如果你可以用Visa、万事达卡、借记卡、Apple Pay等方式付款，那么这(加密货币)将是一种额外的支付方式……一种即时的现金转账方式。我们已经拥有数百项区块链专利，我们知道如何进入该领域。”
不过，Moynihan没有谈到比特币等加密货币作为投资或价值储存的想法，称这“其实是一个完全不同的问题”。
