Officials in the US are investigating the impact of Chinese artificial intelligence app DeepSeek on national security, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.
"This is a wake-up call to the American AI industry," Reuters quoted Leavitt as saying.
Washington was also working to "ensure American AI dominance," the report said, quoting Leavitt, who also echoed comments by US President Donald Trump.
Trump's artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency czar David Sacks said there is a possibility of intellectual property theft from the rise of DeepSeek, the report said, citing an interview on Fox News.
