Opera Australia has resorted to taking a loan from a director to shore up operations in the wake of big losses from its staging of Sunset Boulevard, and chief executive Fiona Allan is leaving after just over three years in the post.
OA confirmed on Wednesday morning that a loan from a director had been made. Jane Hansen, the investment banker and philanthropist wife of Financial Review Rich Lister Paul Little, said last month she had not made a loan. The board also includes Andrew Sisson, who made a fortune from the sale of his Balanced Equity Management. He has not responded to enquiries.
