TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) noted that the number of capital market investors at the end of January 2025 had reached 15 million single investor identification (SID). This achievement is considered to have come from the role of the Financial Services Authority, Self-Regulatory, and stakeholders in educating the public about the capital market.

President Director of PT Bursa Efek Indonesia Iman Rachman said that the capital market can play an active role in achieving Indonesia's economic growth. This potential can only be realized if all stakeholders such as the government, regulators, corporations, and investors, work together to advance a more inclusive, transparent, and globally competitive capital market. "Together, we can realize the great ideals for a stronger and more sustainable Indonesian economy," said Iman in a written statement on Monday, January 10, 2025.

Based on data from PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI) on Friday, January 31, 2025, the number of capital market investors has reached 15,161,166 SID. Compared to the previous month, the growth in the number of capital market investors throughout January 2025 was 289,527 SID, or 144,639 SID higher than the monthly growth in January 2024 of 144,888 SID. According to Iman, this growth reflects optimism towards the Indonesian capital market, along with increasing financial literacy and public participation in investment.

"This shows the increasing public interest in stock ownership as a long-term investment instrument," said Iman.

Since reaching 14 million SID, IDX has been actively carrying out various capital market education activities, including organizing the Capital Market Summit & Expo 2024 (CMSE 2024), Road to CMSE 2024, Capital Market Ambassadors and various other innovative programs. Throughout 2024, IDX has held 34,676 educational activities, involving 59.66 million participants online, offline, and hybrid, which are integrated into the Aku Investor Saham campaign theme.

Starting 2025, IDX has implemented 411 educational activities in various regions such as organizing capital market schools, investor forums, public education and visits to IDX, to creating educational content on social media. These efforts demonstrate IDX's commitment to reaching the wider community and encouraging an increase in the number of sustainable investors.
