Vulcan Steel (ASX:VSL, NZE:VSL) reported Tuesday that its earnings per diluted share in the fiscal first half fell to NZ$0.07 from NZ$0.20 per diluted share a year earlier.
Analysts polled by Visible Alpha were expecting an EPS of NZ$0.05.
Revenue for the six months ended Dec. 31, 2024, was NZ$493 million, down from NZ$564 million in the same period a year earlier. Analysts surveyed by Visible Alpha expected NZ$489.4 million.
The company expects trading volumes in New Zealand to recover from the second or third quarter of the 2025 calendar year.
The board declared an interim dividend of NZ$0.03 per share, down from the NZ$0.12 in the previous reported period, payable on March 27 to shareholders on record as of March 14.
The company's Kiwi shares were down almost 2% in recent Tuesday trade.
