消息面上，近日，据市场消息报道，法国汽车制造商雷诺与中国合作伙伴吉利汽车计划在本月晚些时候宣布一项协议，将合作范围扩大到巴西，以在全球贸易战扩大的背景下寻求新的增长市场。根据协议，吉利最早将于今年开始使用雷诺在巴西的零售网络，销售从中国出口的吉利品牌汽车。吉利还将获得雷诺巴西公司的少数股份，并使用雷诺在巴西库里蒂巴的工厂组装汽车。
知情人士称，当前吉利和雷诺正在制定这项初步协议，关于合作的具体细节仍在考虑中。其中一位消息人士表示，吉利可能会在雷诺工厂建立其多动力系统平台，生产汽油车、混合动力汽车和纯电动汽车。
中国乘用车市场信息联席会秘书长崔东树表示，去年巴西是中国电动汽车和插电式混合动力汽车出口增长最快的市场，出口量翻了一番多，达到15.2万辆。他还称，巴西也成为中国新能源汽车(包括电动汽车和混合动力汽车)的海外第二大市场，仅次于比利时。
