Sheffield Resources (ASX:SFX) said its total zircon shipments for the March quarter are expected to range between 55,000 tonnes and 70,000 tonnes, jumping from its previous guidance for the period of 40,000 tonnes to 60,000 tonnes, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.
It estimated ilmenite concentrate shipments for the March quarter to remain between 160,000 tonnes and 180,000 tonnes, the filing said.
It also said that LNG fuel supply to the Thunderbird mineral sands mine in Western Australia is constrained and Kimberley Mineral Sands, the owner of the mine, determined to temporarily suspend mining and processing plant operations.
The great northern highway between Port Hedland and Broome in Western Australia was temporarily closed following Cyclone Zelia.
Operations at the mine are expected to restart once supply routes are restored.
The firm added that a new waste mining contractor was appointed and started mobilizing to the site.
The firm's shares rose 6% on market close on Thursday.
