消息面上，电讯盈科发布公告，于2025年1月28日，买方PCCW NewsCo Limited(公司的间接全资附属公司)与卖方New Class Holdings Limited订立买卖协议，据此，卖方同意出售而买方同意购买目标权益，总代价为7000万港元，将透过现金结算。于完成后，目标公司Clermont Media Limited将成为公司的间接全资附属公司。
目标公司Clermont Media Limited是一家在英属维尔京群岛注册成立的英属维尔京群岛商业公司。目标公司的主要业务是投资控股。目标集团的主要业务包括与名为“《Hong Kong Economic Journal》”及/或“《信报财经新闻》”及/或“《信报》”的报章以及名为“《Hong Kong Economic Journal Monthly》”及/或“《信报财经月刊》”的月刊有关的业务，并经营HKEJ.COM网站及信报流动应用程式，提供免费及付费订阅内容。
