BlockBeats 消息，2 月 23 日，针对 2 月 21 日 Bybit 交易所遭受黑客攻击并损失 15 亿美元一事，以太坊核心开发者 Tim Beiko 表示，尽管部分加密行业人士呼吁将以太坊网络恢复至攻击前状态，但从技术角度来看，这几乎不可能实现。
Beiko 强调，与 2016 年 TheDAO 黑客事件不同，此次攻击并未违反以太坊协议规则，回滚将导致广泛且难以修复的连锁反应，甚至可能带来比黑客损失更大的破坏性后果。此外，回滚将撤销所有已结算的链上交易，而无法逆转链下交易。
其他行业人士也表达了类似观点。以太坊教育者 Anthony Sassano 指出，当前以太坊生态系统的复杂性使得简单回滚基础设施变得不可行。Yuga Labs 区块链副总裁更警告称，回滚的成本可能远超 15 亿美元。
此前消息，当被问及是否支持将以太坊回滚至黑客事件发生前的状态时，Bybit CEO Ben Zhou 表示：“这不是一个人能决定的事情。基于区块链精神，也许应该通过社区投票来决定，但我不确定。”(Cointelegraph)
