Sun Silver (ASX:SS1) began extensive baseline environmental surveys at its Maverick Springs silver-gold project in Nevada to collect data for environmental assessments and regulatory compliance under the National Environmental Policy Act, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.
The surveys will run from February to August. The final report is expected to be received by November, the filing said.
The surveys will include vegetation surveys, wildlife surveys, species-specific habitat assessments, and wetland and habitat confirmation, per the filing.
The firm is also focused on progressing mineral resource expansion programs and feasibility studies.
The firm's shares fell 4% on market close on Monday.
