Silgan Holdings Raises Dividend 5.3%

Silgan Holdings boosted its dividend to 20 cents per share from 19 cents.

The plastic-container manufacturer said on Tuesday the increase had been approved by the company's board of directors. The new payout, equal to 80 cents a year, represents an annual yield of about 1.5% based on Tuesday's closing price of $55.12.

The new dividend will be paid on March 31 to shareholders of record as of March 17.

Silgan said it has increased its quarterly cash dividend for 21 consecutive years.
