Moelis & Co.'s longtime chief financial officer, Joseph Simon, is leaving the investment bank to become finance chief at law firm Wachtell Lipton Rosen & Katz.

Moelis on Thursday said Christopher Callesano, who joined the New York company in 2010 and currently serves as managing director, principal accounting officer and corporate controller, will succeed Simon as chief financial officer, effective March 31.

Moelis said Simon, who joined as managing director and chief financial officer in 2010, will assist with the transition over the next three months before leaving at the end of May.

Moelis said Nick Riehl, currently head of financial reporting, will succeed Callesano as principal accounting officer.
