Deutsche Post Investment Case Strengthened by Management Plans -- Market Talk

0825 GMT - Deutsche Post's investment case has been strengthened by management actions to contain costs and boost growth, JPMorgan analysts write. The company delivered strong fourth-quarter EBIT, derisked forward guidance by targeting an EBIT level it is confident in reaching despite macro uncertainties, and outlined a cost-improvement plan. "While share price performance year to date has been strong, partly driven by sentiment around German equities, we think the fact that management is demonstrating it is taking action to ensure earnings growth resumes, will help the investment case." JPMorgan lifts its price target on the stock to 50 euros from 42.50 euros and reiterates an overweight rating. Shares fall 1.8% to 43.48 euros. (dominic.chopping@wsj.com)
