Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will further address the United States tariff response in a press conference at 10:30 a.m. ET Tuesday, noted Scotiabank.

The premier will be joined by Finance Minister Dominic LeBlanc, Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly and Minister of Public Safety David McGuinty, said the bank.

Investors already know that the first round of retaliatory tariffs has kicked in at 12:01 a.m. ET Tuesday and applies a 25% tariff on C$30 billion of imports from the U.S., stated Scotiabank. They have had the list of affected imports for a month.

The next round of 25% tariffs will kick in within 21 days and will apply against another C$125 billion of imports from the U.S. and investors may get that list on Tuesday, added the bank.

Scotiabank will also watch for the discussion of other potential measures that have federal jurisdiction, such as export taxes and restrictions.
