特朗普表示，马斯克工作一直“非常努力”。随后，特朗普指着民主党议员们所坐的一侧说，“我相信，这里的每个人，甚至这一侧，都对你表示感谢。”他稍作停顿，补充道，“他们（民主党议员）只是不想承认这一点。”

特朗普这一番略带调侃的言论，引发了现场的不同反应。共和党议员们为特朗普的幽默鼓掌，而民主党议员们则对此发出了嘘声。
