消息面上，马来西亚经济部长Rafizi Ramli表示，将在十年内向日本软银旗下英国芯片设计商Arm支付2.5亿美元，以获取该公司为当地制造商提供的芯片设计方案。随着对人工智能(AI)和数据中心的需求不断增长，马来西亚计划在未来五到十年内生产自家图像处理器(GPU)芯片。该国目标到2030年半导体出口达到2700亿美元。马来西亚希望与Arm的交易将使国内生产商扩大规模，创建十家本地芯片公司，年收入总额达约200亿美元，将助GDP增加一个百分点。
此外，马来西亚总理安瓦尔表示，Arm 将于下周正式签署在该国建立基地的协议。
