Amentum (AMTM) and Rivada Space Networks said Tuesday they are partnering to offer a secure low earth orbit connectivity network to support US government global communications.

Rivada is developing a global low-latency point-to-point network of 600 low earth orbit satellites, where data remains in space from origin to destination via inter-satellite laser links. This design creates a fully independent, ultra-secure satellite network with pole-to-pole coverage, the companies said.

Shares of Amentum were down nearly 5% in recent trading.
