Nordic Stocks Tipped to Open Slightly Higher -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
Mar 18

0727 GMT - Nordic markets may open slightly higher with IG calling the OMXS30 up 0.4% at around 2696. U.S. stock markets recovered slightly yesterday after the decline in recent weeks, but the dollar remains under pressure from growth concerns, SEB analysts say in a note. "Growth concerns intensified yesterday when the OECD presented new forecasts in which the outlook for the United States and its two closest neighbors was revised downwards." Asian equity markets have followed the U.S. higher overnight while oil prices are rising slightly on heightened tensions in the Middle East. The ceasefire in the Middle East seems to have ended as Israel this morning attacked Hamas in Gaza, while negotiations for a more lasting ceasefire continue to stall, SEB adds. OMXS30 closed at 2685.19, OMXN40 at 2571.71 and OBX at 1453.24. (dominic.chopping@wsj.com)
